The
productive history of Walker Electronics Limited goes back over
five decades and started in Surrey, England when Mr John Walker Hon FBHI
designed and manufactured the
'Meridian', an electronic watch timer which enhanced the efficiency
of the watchmaker. This was followed by the production of the first
ultrasonic cleaning unit specifically designed for the watchmaker
and jeweller.

The
success of the ultrasonic cleaner led Walker Electronics Limited
to examine the cleaning fluids used. After extensive consultation
with individual chemists, the current range of high efficiency fluids
was produced. Walker Electronics Limited is still a major player
in the Horological market.

During the past
54 years, the company has had many projects including the manufacture of a unit
for Guinness to produce 'a head' prior to the advent of 'the widget' and the timing
of the Record breaking attempt on Coniston Water by Donald Campbell.
The
manufacturing of ultrasonic cleaning tanks and cleaning fluids now
takes place in Collingham, Nottinghamshire where the company has
been based since 1962. Mr John Walker Hon FBHI (Chairman) and his
wife Mrs Winifred Walker (Secretary) have both retired from the day to day
running of the business, however, still have an active role in an
advisory capacity.
