Test the efficiency of your ultrasonic bath in line with HTM 01-05 (supercedes HTM2030 in part)June 2009

HTM01-05 states that you must test your ultrasonic cleaner WEEKLY with a protein residue test to confirm its capability for removing proteins from instruments.

Walker Electronics introduce load check strips for testing and validation of the performance of your ultrasonic cleaner in line with HTM 01-05.

Ultrasonic load check strips are a consistent, reproducible and reliable way of keeping check on the efficiency of your ultrasonic bath.

The are used in conjunction with the load check holder

The strips can be used with no risk of adding blood bourne contaminants as they contain two sources of protein which are derived from eggs and porcine.  Specially formulated to mimic the cleaning efficacy soil tests for surgical instruments as described in HTM 01-05.

The strips have many benefits including:

  • Safe to handle
  • Reproducible testing
  • Easy to interpret results
  • Bench marked performance suitable for validation
  • Mimics occluded surfaces to present a realistic cleaning challenge

Use the strips on a regular basis, then file for future validation of your units efficiency.

These strips can be used with ANY manufacturers unit.  They present a realistic challenge for the cleaner - if they do not work in all ultrasonic  baths it means the unit is not cleaning your instruments correctly.

Load test strip holder and load test strips are also available from The Dental Directory.
